The Muslim American Society (MAS) sponsored an educational forum in Washington, D.C. to counter the negative feelings toward Muslims held by many Americans and to help people understand Islam as a peaceful religion, not one of violence. While there were hundreds of American Muslims in attendance, there were very few non-Muslims.
