On January 17, 2009, three days before the historc inauguration of President Barack Obama, "Little Friends for Peace" gathered a community of children, their parents, grandparents and friends at The Perry School Community Services Center in Washington, D.C. to make a peace train in celebration of the new president. They were joined by the anti-torture group, "Witness Against Torture".
Completing an afternoon of artistic peacebuilding the crowd marched 8 blocks to Union Station to greet thousands of inaugural celebrants as they arrived at the train station next to the US Capitol. [CLICK "Slideshow", above right, for best viewing]

Beautiful slide show that really captures the spirit of that day! We were blessed and energized being part of "Peace Train Meets the Obama Train." Great organizing work, M.J., Jerry, and Timmy!
The bright colors, bright faces, and bright and beautiful message of the Peace Train warms the heart and cheers the spirit!
